Been ages since I bought some chains.
What make and where from these days?
Only used oe up until now.
Cheers.
I get mine made up by my local Stihl dealer - always used Stihl chains
If you can sharpen them competently then just get another Stihl one.
If you can't Rotatech ones are good from Northern Arb Supplies. I've got a MS161T which uses chains that are so small they are a pain to sharpen. For £8 a go it's cheaper to replace them than spend the time faffing. For the bigger saws then Stihl all the way.
Thats my 2p worth but someone will be along shortly to shoot me down.
For now I got one a Stihl chain on Ebay for nigh on £18, reckon it was 4/5 years ago when I bought mine for £13?
Nice little price increase there.
Anymore recommendations?
It’s worth getting a stihl 2in1 sharpening tool I think. Makes sharpening a doddle
Rotatech
I use Northern Arb Supplies too. The chains come in a useful little bag too.
Sharpening chains is not at all difficult. All you need is a decent file and an angle guide.
Rotatech / Northern arb supplies here also
I just use my local maintenance place or TFM. Mind I don’t use saws at all now in my new job :0(
