Currently have Shimano MW5 and like the fit etc but my summer shoes Northwave rebel have a stiffness sole of 12, and I would prefer a winter boot with a stiff sole, is there anything out there ?

My five ten gtx are pretty stiff, certainly more so than normal freerider pros.

Also have the five ten gtx and the sole stiffness/feel is spot on.

After more of an XC shoe rather than trail/enduro and Spd fitting for clip in pedals

I think Shimano say the MW5 is rated as 5 on their stiffness scale and the MW7 is 7 so should be stiffer.

I don't think there's a standardised scale for stiffness across manufacturers. A shimano 7 and a northwave 7 might be completely different so the numbers aren't really useful comparing across brands.

My Northwave boots are stiff, no idea what the current models are like.
