The number plates on our 18 month old Skoda are stuck on rather than screwed on, and the rear plate has given up the ghost.

Seem to be a couple of predrilled/tapped holes on the boot lid - just a case of getting the right size screw/bolt and putting the holes in the number plate to put it back properly?

Presumably do the same at the front while I'm at it

You can buy specific pads at somewhere like either Halfords or Screwfix. You can also get thicker pads for some vehicles

It's all in the preparation. And the correct sticky pads. IPA to clean the area then nothing more than Sellotape Sticky Fixer Strip stuff for me. Never had a plate come loose.

I did an emergency fix with clear silicone sealant, still stuck 10 years later when the car was written off

Clean both surfaces well, use good adhesive pads and you’ll have no issues.

Pop to somewhere like Halfords (online options are available) and get plastic number plate screws/nuts. Then you don’t damage car paintwork.

Another vote for IPA and vhb. Worked on a number of cars, including track cars and things that get driven on bumpy things. It's really very good.

Wedge it in the windscreen and you're sorted.
