Shitty oaths, good on him. Didn't the Munro record go this year again (to the current holder) as well?

Thanks, I'm tracking! My mate Chris is doing a stretch or two with him on the Northern Fells later in the week.

Nic of our parish was running an early leg with him.

An awesome record to attempt.

Wowsers, now heading for High St & Kentmere after 3 full days. Pulled back over an hour's deficit yesterday.

He did say that up to 4 hours wasn't that significant over the first few days. Though after an extended sleep stop earlier than planned last night he's actually now up on schedule again! Half way there (in terms of number of peaks) this morning.

The man is flying (relatively speaking) now half an hour up on schedule and seemingly gaining time. I'm hoping they get him to take a longer sleep again tonight as it's clear the extra rest has done wonders for his speed over the ground. Which is interesting as in adventure racing there's always been a rule of thumb to take as little sleep as you can get away with, but from personal experience when we've taken longer overnight rests we've always more than made up the difference the next day.

I ran 12.5 miles tonight and I am pretty knackered.

Fair play.

He's finished - a new record of 6 days 13 hours, 12 hours faster than the previous record held by the legendary Joss Naylor. I think that is a record which will stand for a long time - who will even be brave enough to attempt it?

Bottle of Wainwrights beer on the last top, Catbells, and then an old fella tagging along fell on the steep descent and took Steve out by all accounts - how bad would you feel if you broke him there!
We'll done Steve and team.

Absolutely stunning. Humbling stuff. Still time to bung him a fiver:

Go on, you'll spend that on your next coffee, or getting halfway to your next ride in fuel 🙂
