been offered a ticket for tomorrow night, worth going to see ?
Has his moments buy certainly not one of my favourites.
Don't get him at all
I've not seen any of his recent stuff but his older stand up was pretty good. The TV show was terrible iirc. Have a look on youtube to see if it's your kind of humour.
His What does the K stand for? radio series is quite funny.
Not. I don't get him at all.
Who?

He can be... But he can be a total hack as well. I saw him do the exact same set 3 years in a row with the same fake heckle and same fake crowd responses so he could do the same fake improvised response. But then I saw him demolish a genuine heckler. I wouldn't go and see him again tbh but there was some really good stuff.
(I was really tempted to start just shouting out punchlines 10 seconds into the joke, I think whatever he did after that would have been pretty damn funny tbh)
said id go its with one of the dads at my sons school, don't really know the other dad but I'm sure a bit of comedy will be good
Being going to see a steady number of comedians over last few years and he is still the least funny of the ten or so we have seen. Fwiw the surprising top one was Greg Davies.
Still, looking at the other posts on this thread, at least your expectations will be set low
Not for some time.
id never heard of him before the invite...
He lives on the edge sometimes. If you are middle class and white they'll be a few uncomfortable moments / sharp intakes of breath. If you have already crossed a barrier with another race/religion he's easily to feel comfortable to laugh with.
That reminds me OP, I haven't posted your letter my apologies I'll get to it.

Haha remember that one.

thank you 😉
I'll report back and tell you what I thought of him (purposefully not going to youtube him!)
I thought he was good but Greg Davies was brilliant.
Pure Sheeeeeeeeeeite.
How do these average people hit the big time? Does someone in the BBC choose them, promote them and the rest just happens?
Never liked him at all
That R4 show about the K in Amoss is quite funny, but not sure about the rest of his stuff.
I think he's great, personally.
Average.
If you got free tickets there are worse ways to spend an evening.
Saw him years ago in some standup show in london, along with Russel Howard, before he hit the "big time". I thought he was crude and offensive and not funny at all [and this is coming from a guy who is often quite offensive himself and couldn't give a rat's about most things].
Maybe he's improved.
But then I thought Russel Howard was shite and they're both on the tellybox now, so what do I know?
It's kinda irrelevant anyway, what does OP care if we like him or not, really? Just go and see and make up your own mind. You can always take heavily to drink if the performance is not very interesting.
The thing about Russell Howard is genuinely funny people write his stuff but are performing their own stuff in tiny venues. Richard Herring wrote for him for a while and his 'Christ on a Bike' and 'What is Love Anyway' are great, unfortunately he'll always play second fiddle to Lee (but readily acknowledges this!).

I got told off by Mrs K by pre-oredering 4 large glasses of Merlot for the interval at a theatre show she wanted to see, but I had no interest in.
...he was funny !

People still drink Merlot? Maybe she was just objecting to your grape choice
Jeez, is that some kind of wine snobbery? Wow, I've seen some sad shit on here.
Not (anymore).

Weird weird weird - the above clip meant nothing to me. Then I sat down to watch a film last night... and it was 'Sideways'
