Have an aged Roku that is worse than useless as it is so slow.

What’s a good budged streaming device?

Needs to be able to do bbc. Was thinking of getting a second hand Apple TV 3rd Gen.

Get a newer Roku. BBC live or on demand, Now, Disney Plus all good on ours with only a fair wi-fi connection.

New Roku we got about a year ago is way better than the old Roku we had.

Another vote for just getting a newer Roku. In my opinion they’re the best streaming device if you’re not tied in t any single ecosystem

Google Chromecast TV thing is pretty good.

Has a good remote control, is pretty nippy, and seems to have apps for all the major streaming services (even Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video).

Thanks all! We do have iPhones. Does Apple TV make casting easier in that case. Not done it for ages but with current Roku seem to recall it was a pita/not possible. Is new Roku better?

Can you do volume on the new Roku - this is another pain of the existing one.

Nvidia shield is always the answer to this question. If on a real budget get a Google TV cast with remote.

My thought was more basic/rude but then I have a warped sense of humour.

Another vote for Google chromecast with Google Tv.
Easy to set up and use inc volume control. Works well with other Google products, home etc. Has most of the major apps but any it doesn't, easy to stream from phone.

Also has Stadia, cheap access to next gen gaming.
