We have grass verges lining our streets which the local council keep lovely and neat even in these times of austerity. Every house on our street has a drive with very few that can accomodate only 1 car. Some verges have lovely blossom trees on them and yet every single day people park their car on the grass. With the weather as it is the verges are bogs so now they all look like ploughed fields. I collared one resident to ask why they dont park in their own drive and the reply was “its just easier to set off in the morning”. It just beggars belief to how lazy people are becoming that the 5 secs to reverse the car out (i assume they are too lazy to reverse in to their drive) is too much like hard work. There is little chance the grass will grow back as its just pure mud that is now leeching in to the road. The roads are more than wide enough to get past a parked car if it was on the road.
Like the rubbish thread, people are now simply too lazy or just dont care about the surroundings where they live. One resident emptied the contents of her car on to the grass verge right outside her own house and simply left it there and proceeded to park over it every day.
