When we were over in France with the White Room earlier this year, there was a short powercut in the first evening... So we all decamped first to the balcony then to the street outside- up a mountain, away from the cities, practically no light pollution, = a night sky you could fall into. Oh and conveniently a meteor shower too.
One good thing from being a kid growing up during the strike induced power cuts were the impressive night skies.
