Ma and pa Monkey are moving house, and have discovered a bag of old Star Wars figures (along with some very battered vehicles).

Worth anything? What's the best way to get rid of them?

They're at the parents, I'll take some pics next week when I'm there. Maybe 30 or so assorted figures mostly from Empire / Jedi I think.

Tell you what Harry the Spider, I'd like 'em to go to a kid that'll play with them and they really don't owe me anything (they were well played with all through the 80s!) so I'll have a good look and see if any are worth anything (I suspect probably not) and eBay those for charity, then you can have the rest for postage. Seem fair to you?

I used to have mostly Britains Deetail soldiers and Knights.

My Dad got me the Waterloo British Officer with the flag. He said if I looked after it he would buy the regiment. I did look after it and I didn't get the regiment :-(....40 years later EBAY :-). I now have an Army in Plastic 🙂

The faded one is the original...

I have Britains soldiers from 40 years ago too. Waterloo, knights, cowboys and a marching pipe and drum band.

Three things I wish I never "let my mum" help me get rid of as a kid;

1. Star Wars figures, ships and playsets etc
2. Lego city, space, medieval, Technics and other stuff
3. Action Man and assorted vehicles/accessories

Would happily spend hours playing with them alongside monkey jnr.

2. Lego city, space, medieval, Technics and other stuff

A million times this.

My gran sold all mine from under me one day when I was out because I was "too old for it." Pretty much all of my 'toys' as a kid were either Lego or computer / video game related. I had a metric shitload of the stuff, pretty much all of the Space models, most of the major Technic sets, thousands of pounds' worth. I think she got £30 for it. Gutted.

The Star Wars stuff will be played with if any of it finds it's way to my lad. He is obsessed!

I sold a bunch to someone off here a year or so ago. Got £100 IIRC for a bunch of unboxed original figures and boxed later edition stuff that was far less rare plus loads of other random bits.
