Had a nice drunk festive day off with Carlin, Stanhope, Hicks & Maron.

If you like Hicks then I would suggest Louis CK. Tom Stade also.

I loathe Tom Stade. That's personal.

Louis CK is OK but I'm tired of faggot jokes, whatever the context.

As a layman I'm starting to think all comedy has is sexuality, religion and government.

Mike Birbiglia, who you might have come across on the Maron WTF podcast.

Great storyteller.

Download the live episodes of WTF, Nerdist, Pete Holmes podcasts ...you get 5-6 people that you haven't heard of before and you get them at their most accessible to ease your way into them...

I'd recommend Louis CK, his take on being a father is fantastic
