The Mary Townley on a £100 bike was one of my favourites.

Aye, stuff like that was great, the 100 quid weekends too was a highlight.

Did I dream this, or did there used to be an article called fish out of water, where folk went a did other people's (bike related) jobs?.

Barney once did an article on the perils of road biking, just starts off as a wee handy pedal from the door, type thing, was brilliant, got the usual suspects frothing at the mouth! 😂

It's got to be the one when Chipps ventured down to deepest darkest Somerset, nothing to do with me being in it mind. 😬

Issue 1 for what remains even today as one of STWs best stories about a guy (in America) who got banned from driving and had to cycle to work. Beautifully written, was a super-popular article.

The Fish Out Of Water ones were always good.

And I'm obviously biased cos I co-wrote it but Issue 15 for the Mountain Rescue article. 😉

The one after Jenn had died.
IMO, it went downhill from there onward.

I always enjoyed the issue 2 article about doing an off road coast to coast in 24 hours - definitely prompted me to ger out and have a go at it. Not in 24 hours though, well, not at all in fact for the first attempt, but did get all the way across eventually!

There was an article about Madeira a few years back that had simply stunning photos and ever since I've wanted to go there.

January 2013. A great article with a handful of contributors riding on the shortest day.

I remember quite a few of the articles mentioned already but have never looked at Issue 1 for some reason

Funny, I was just thinking about posting about my favourite - issue 123, feb 19. I’ve been a subscriber for a long time, but this one stood out as an issue that I enjoyed almost every article. I've still got it, the only back issue I’ve kept.

Rickie Cotter in Kyrgyzstan was amazing
James Mckight and Budget Bolognaise articles really fab as they were about things going a bit wrong, so more like my kind of rides!
Tom Hill's bit was lovely, and of course not just because I also have Timbuk2 of the same vintage
Jason Miles bit was good
Bike test is about bikes for huge people, extremely helpful - and genuinely shaped what I now ride
25yrs of faking it was great
I love Pete Scullion's articles
Even Sanny in the campsies was good 😆

I miss Benji and Ed Oxley writing, some of their pieces I still remember, hell, I also miss Matt Lech. But 123 was a good issue

I was thinking of this one, bit sad to hit the high point in issue 1!

The one backpacking around Mont Blanc 2008? inspired a group trip that then led on to many others all over the world. Can still see the pictures.

Loads, but one I really liked was the comparison of bikes and riders from different parts of the UK.
Stu from Dales MTB was one of the participants.

And the silly photos at the back were always fun.
