So, brought a cheap 11-46 t cassette from planet x..  then saw that  max  tooth for apex apex 1 is 42 tooth.. bugger.

I'll need a  new chain anyway, but has anyone  bodged  this  to work or am I  wasting my time.

cheers..

I've a Rival 1 mech, and run an 11-46 cassette.

TBH, it can be a bit fussy at times, but not sure whether that's due to being over recommended capacity, or other issues I've got.

I use a 11-46 cassette with a SRAM Force 1 rear mech - originally came with a 11-42 cassette.

It is 'fussy', but once the B-screw is set correctly only with regard to chain length - just one link too few and it will just not drop off the bigger cogs.  Worth experimenting.

I changed from 11-42 and a 42T chainring to 11-46 and a 44T chainring - means I've a greater range with a bit extra high as well as low.

This thread is relevant to my interests.

@MicArms 11 or 12 speed? The newer 12 speed supposedly go to 46 officially and without faff. I have 11s 11-42 and a worn chain and am considering new cassettes when I swap the chain.

Cheers for the info guys . I'll have a fettle when the new chain arrives.
