The gym here at work doesn;t have any kind of rack for squats. That means I can only squat what I can lift over my head.
I'm not allowed to buy a rack/stand (liability issue) so the the only reasonable thing I can think of is to squat with resistance bands attached to the ends of the bar and stand on the band in the middle (picture bow and arrow).

Anybody do this?
The current bar is 60kg and I want to be squatting equivelent of 80kg+
What strength bands do I need to have an effect?
Will i need a couple of bands?
What is the best way to attach to ends of bar?
Can you recommend some?

Much thanks

Dumbell squats with wrist straps ?

Edit ... beaten 🙂

Or deadlift, standard and romanian to get a better leg balance ...

could you not do one legged squats (pistols)? I do bodyweight stuff like that when I haven't got access to weights. currently just starting on 'convict conditioning' if you fancy Googling it?

I thought this was going to be about crusty types with Discharge tribute acts and unconventional living arrangements.

I thought this was a thread about Chumbawumba.

Max dumbell weight is 20kg 🙁

Just looked up romanian squat - will give it a try. I assume you can add weight with dumbells too!

But nothing feels like the squat!

Front squat. Deadlift. Job done.
Over head squat is fun. Press the barbell over your head, hold it there, squat. You won't need much weight for this one.

With the bands, How do you plan to attach the bands to the bar and get it up over your head, then back down after?
