I love sprouts. Bit of glut in the garden at the moment.

Remember it's all in the cooking and prep.

Go for the small ones. If big cut in half and dont forget to cut a cross in the bottom.

---

Bring water to the boil.
Add bicarb.
Boil of 15 mins. keep testing.

Serve with grated cheese.

as CptJon say Nom Nom Nom 🙂

Boil em!? Nah, sautéed! Just had some with shallots and the local butcher's best pork sausages.

I love 'em cooked until they're soft and mushy. It's only at that point that they properly release their sweetness.

Most people don't cook them long enough and so don't experience them at their best. Ignore all the al dente nonsense.

Cook 'em like your nan used to!

mmmmmmm

My Mom always said that you can't eat sprouts until we've had the first frost. Never really tested the theory but today was like a spring day here so I am patiently waiting.

Bowl of sprouts + mint sauce and butter. 😀
