Can play Spotify via 2 method
1. via the app on my sammy TV via optical to my amp
2. via spotify connect through chromecast (not audio) hdmi into tv and then via optical to my amp
Compared a few tracks and the latter seems better sounding to me.
Does anyone know at what stream rate or codec each method uses? I know, does it matter if you like the sound of one version stick with that. I just would like to know what each offers on paper so I can put more time into it. (Been listening to the Ruark playlist which has some fantastic tunes on)
I also know that some prefer Tidal / QoBuz and that might be another avenue to explore but having checked out Tidal on trial I wasn't to impressed with the front end. Qobuz not yet in Aus (or wasn't last time I checked).
Looks like the Chromecast probably has a higher bitrate.
