Why dont spiders stick to their own webs, seeing as anything else which touches it does? Are they only web-proof to their own-spun webs, or is it universal?
Only certain strands are coated in specifically spun sticky spidey silk, apparently spiders can produce many types of spun silk on demand from their spinnerets.
Also they have eight dainty little feet to be able to walk across the web - prey don’t, they don’t actually see the web, they fly straight in, then start struggling and get even more entangled, especially the wings which have a large, flat contact area.
Teflon feet
If that's where it comes from, I'm never using pans again.
Your own kids are nice
Your on farts smell okay
Your own webs don't stick to you
Nature is weird like that
Has OP tried moving spiders on to different webs to see what happens? Pick two and do a swapsy. I just think you’ll end up with two confused spiders. I wonder if they’ll be critical of each other’s work.
I miss threads (no pun intended!) by @roper, wonder what happened to him?
He was eaten.
Lovely husk, though.
