horrible american child torture technique... but more fun than work

I got up to 2 hundred and something on my first attempt, but then got caught out by 'gerrymandering'!!

Not if you cheat and read the instructions. Click "Word Help" and it gives you a definition of the word - so you can tell the difference between heal and heel.

As Smee said the pronunciation is terrible. Since when was 'should' pronounced 'shed'?

Only got two correct. The third was tyre, and I should have known to spell it tire. Why can't the Yanks spell properly?

Did you check the definition Fagus? It could have been tire, as in to get tired.
