Need new glasses and am a little surprised by the price differentials that emerge, I accept that a bricks and mortar shop will cost a bit more.

But what else justifies the price difference? are vision express very expensive? are the lenses a lot better???
Vision Express are up market for a high street chain. Good (expensive rent) locations, nice shops etc. I used to use them but now just buy glasses online.
I got my Oakley specs online for £109 including delivery and all the fancy lense coatings.
The cheapest I could find them for in York was £289 with basic lenses !
I'm all for supporting local shops but that price difference is shocking.
Don't get me wrong i want to support the high street and am willing to pay a premium to have someone there if i need them. BUT the price difference is shocking, if it comes down to cheap plastic v Zeiss lenses fair enough, i can accept i am getting a premium product and it will cost a bit more but double isn't really a bit more.
