Went last week to lay a loft floor, cleared all the crap out, and there was a circular junction box, buried in the insulation,no lid on it,bare copper wire sticking out of it, and a lot oF wires going various places.
Two twin core wires connected to junction box, and ending in bare ends, with no insulation.
Told customer, who said they where ok, as i didnt have any means of checking if they where live, even though one went to the loft light, told him to get sparky out,and to re align cables through joists as opposed to just over them, before floor could be laid.
Going back next week to finish job,if sparky checks it all out.Anything else i should check for.
Good chance the bare wires are earth wires , you have told the person so you have coverd your arse also leave access to the box via a hatch
