Does this exist? I want a light switch that can operate an existing light but also wirelessly operate a second hidden socket somewhere else. I fancy under-cabinet lights in the kitchen operated from the main light switch.

Yes. There are a few home automation brands. You get slave plugs and inline controlers (for lights) and/or replacement switch units. You can then add a wall switch to control them. The posh ones have multiple buttons that you can set up as different 'moods'.

For cheaper solution (because home auto is silly expensive) you can get remote switching relays on eBay. They use a car key fob kind of remote. Mine lives on the shelf in the kitchen near the under cabinet lights it controls.

It's not perfect but it works and cost v little

Needs to be activated via the same switch as the light, or one next to it. Otherwise I'll put a switch in by the worktop.

Have a look at lightwaverf on ebay. £50 or less for all the bits I'd guess.

Edit:

I'd do it with...

Lightwaverf master
Lightwaverf slave
Lightwaverf 2 gang socket

Which is how my living room is set up (all the wall sockets are lightwaverf)

Hmm.. the dimmer stuff is too "smart" I just want a basic on-off switch, but they do relays which might work.. hmm..

Yeah, you could put a blanking plate over the switch and wire it to on then stick a relay in. The master switch is only a few mm thick, you could stick on the top of the blanking plate.

Hmmm.. Actually.. A normal hidden socket and a motion sensor under the cabinets would be easiest and possibly best...
