I need some decent combination spanners. I want some small ones from 5-12mm. Any suggestions for the magic quality price factor?

Halfords professional range when they are on special offer.

The Halfords pro ones are good especially when on offer but I don't think they go that small. I just have a cheap set from eBay for tiny bolts. They are never very tight as the thread isn't very strong.

Halfords Pro is pretty good value for money.

Facom 440s are really nice without spending Snap On money.

I'd agree but I'd question whether you even need that quality at 5mm end. At £5 per spanner compared to £5 for a full set of mini Bergen spanners its a big step for a small return. Personally I have nice quality bigger spanners and cheap tiny ones (although I do have a couple of nice 10mm and 8mm as they are standard metric)

I have Lidl spanners. They work well, never had any issues. Open end sometimes slips but they have done plenty of hard work over the years considering they were just to tide me over.

Spanners earn my living - Gedore and also Britool but their quality has slumped so just Gedore nowadays.

I'm using Duratool ratchet ring/open end from CPC.

8, 10, 13, 15. Have done a few years service now without issues.

Larger sizes, Bedford, Geodore, Hazet for the VW, Gordon, King Dick for the vintage British bikes.

*Part time living.

Got a set of Park spanners a couple of years back on a silly deal on Amazon but really like my Knipex pliers.

Had some lovely Bahco ones for years, thoroughly recomended. Bought a lot of their tools since and all have been great. Also impressed with Teng. Got a few Sanp-on bits but can't help feeling I'm paying as much for the name as the tool, I think the Bahco stuff is a wee bit better and a lot cheaper, Bahco bits from now on for me.
