I occasionally use this technique for trips to places I rarely go.
I used to go out there in October, it was generally very pleasant mid-20s.
Went to Almeria once in October and it was still warm.
We have a place out there, October is one of our very favourite times to go. Low to mid 20's ideal for shorts and T shirts, you might need a jumper for the evenings though.
Very pleasant last year in Jerez, this despite over 40 for a lot of the summer. Son2 doesn't care for the heat, and he's finished two years there, so we visited a couple of times. Never in high summer!
Would an outdoor pool still be usable or too cold?
Would you use an outdoor pool in the British summer? That's what it'll be like.
You would find the outdoor pool on the cool side, but not unusable. It is Jan, Feb and March when our communal pool is too cold to use.
We went to granada in the last week of November last year.
Cold in the evenings so we used lightweight down jackets but during the day it was too bloody hot.
Well slight exaggeration but I wouldn't want it any hotter.
My son and I were swimming in the Med off Malaga last October 13th. It was a little bracing when we first got in but fine after that. Day temps were on the hot side of warm and the evening temps were warm; not even my wife needed a jumper.
The hottest I've experienced Spain (the Basque) was late September and it was over 35dgs on a number of consecutive days.
We're going to visit the inlaws in La Zenia in October half-term. We've done it before and it was mostly as above, mid-20s, sea is a bit chilly, pool should be fine.
By the coast it can get cooler but will be hotter than the UK. Inland, can still be quite warm. Last year I was still on short sleeves well into November.
Did a weeks riding in Bubion in October pre Covid and I cant remember the temps but it was shorts and T shirt riding weather without being too hot
we tend to go to bubion yearly any time from late sept to late oct and its always a nice temperature during the day, mid 20's .
It'll be fine. You won't come back with a david dickinson tan but it will be pleasant. You might well get some rain days.
I usually go in may or September as its perfect - peak season on the south coast is just unbearably hot sometimes, especially in recent years.
We went to Pollenca in Majorca for the last week of October 2022. Weather was (for me) perfect, mid 20s everyday, and cooler for solid sleeps overnight .
