Lots of updates to the Southampton Sports Centre including 'improving' the bike park.

4. BMX bike park
- Resurface existing bike park
- Reprofiling of existing dual slalom track and table top jump line
- Enhanced safety works including low-level fencing

I have concerns about resurfacing the tracks as I have never seen a surfaced track that hasn't suffered with weather etc and then been poorly maintained and repaired because it is so expensive.

The good new is they have been talking with Luis who coordinates the digging there some hopefully some sense will come through

I'm guessing it'll be closed for a while then ? If it is, can you keep up posted please.

Can't argue on the tables though, they need a bit of TLC.... but they do get hit more than any other line i bet.

It is still at consultation phase so nothing to worry about for another year at least I should think.

This guy is involved in the revamp so it should be good :

That looks amazing. Once sorted, what a facility Soton will have 🙂

Just spoken with Luis to discuss this plan in detail. I can share all the information yet but I am now 100% satisfied this is going to be good and improve the Bike Park and 100% supporting the effort.

Please fill in the survey in a positive manner if you can.

I filled it in, but after I clicked Submit I got a dead page, so don't know if it actually submitted.

Probably because you were positive about the bike bits 🙂

I will ping the council on Monday if it still isn't working. Thanks for trying

It will have dez. Issue on the last page is missing Https:// in the URL.

Filled it in yesterday and made point about the bike park being outstanding already.

What Nixie said works, just type HTTPS:// on the front of the URL where it fails and suddenly it works.

Thanks and thanks for the kind words about the Bike Park
