So after a crappy couple of weeks at work. Long story short I got suspended for allegedly falsifying my timesheets and poor attitude. I decided that I will find a new job. During the investigation though it emerged that the timesheets was 10 minutes on a day when I'd gotten collared in reception with someone asking me work related questions..... Poor attitude I did point out that I had been struggling with mental health issues and there was no help.

Anyway fast forward to today. Decided that as my notice had been handed in it would be OK for me to contact the guys I used to go riding with through work to see if either of them wanted to go out. The response was a resoundingly unfriendly NO.

So I need to find some new riding buddies. I'm not overly quick. As you can guess from the nickname I'm a little on the large side. Road riding I'm fine I have people to ride with there but it's the MTB side. I'm only available really at the weekends though. Anyone want to take pity on an overweight slow manual bike rider?

First of all, balls to 'em!
You can do without bar stewards like that. Good luck with whatever comes next.
Can't help you with riding though;
I live in Nottingham 🙂 , and off the bike anyway 🙁

Cheers APF. My thoughts exactly. Don't need anymore issues like that.

I am a bit west of you, in Ammanford. I love a nice relaxed ride even though I am forced to be on an ebike due to arthritis. Pm me if you fancy a ride.

Have a look for castle Mtb on Facebook - based in Caerphilly there’s a good easyish ride that leaves the town centre 11ish on a Saturday.

That represents a tiny portion of the available riding. You're absolutely spoiled for choice, there is a lifetime's worth of riding here of all styles.

Although, be warned that the Castle MTBers are very handy on their bikes. Friendly guys, but on the occasions I've ridden with them, they do like the gnarly stuff. (Which is good, obviously, but not necessarily for everyone.)

I'm over in Swansea - lots of good riding and plenty of us riding. OP, if you want to be shown some of the stuff one weekend send a PM.
