Square and Compass at Worth Maltravers food/atmos
(edit I think one of bill lighthouses does B+B poss)
Devon - Lynton/Lynmouth - Exmoor, cliffs, Valley of the rocks, Porlock, Porlock Hill, coastal path, Hunters INN at Watersmeet (and walks from there)
Another vote for the Purbecks.
Hills, cliffs, sea, pubs, tearooms and proper ice cream. Mmmmm 🙂
You won't be disappointed with Lynton/Lynmouth either though, but the Purbecks offers more in the way of big rolling hills and huge views.
We stayed here a couple of years back, http://www.nordenhouse.com/

Lynton/Lynmouth are right on the edge of Exmoor. Which has the odd hill and view.
Isle of Wight? It's a ferry ride away - makes it feel like a proper holiday.
Clifftop walks? Check.
Downland walks? Check.
Flat estuary walks? Check.
Nice little hideaway pubs all over the place? Check.
S****y cream teas at boutique hotels? Check.
I live in Cowes but if I was coming here on holiday I'd stay somewhere round the southern tip of the island, Ventnor, Steephill Cove or Niton, which has the most spectacular landscape and a benign microclimate.
Probably prefer Devon myself, as well, but the IOW is one you might not have considered.
If you have not been Tintagel is worth a visit. There is a cliff top walk to Boscastle and you can get the bus back.
New Forest, Brockenhurst or somewhere round there.
We went during that hot week in March & it was great.
