We head to France on the 20th July.
We’re off to the Lot et Garonne area and not doing the via-Paris route that bloody ViaMichelin and GoogleMaps always recommend. We’ll be taking the more westerly route down past Tours etc. stopping somewhere around Poitiers for a night. So we’re not passing any of the four Crit Air cities - Paris, Grenoble, Lille or Lyon.
Despite that, I thought I’d be cautious and order the vignette anyway, only to discover that I need the log book for our car, which is held by the lease company. FFS.
its going to be a ball-ache trying to get a digital copy of that from the lease company, and given that it takes 10 days for the sticker to arrive, I’m thinking I just won’t bother with it now. Right call?
I was in two minds but for the few quid it cost I got one, partly because I don't know fully what the ZPAs are about, and I will be travelling through one on my holiday.
That link looks like it's to a reseller who add about 1000% to the cost. Best to go direct and save a lot of money. That said I wouldn't bother in the ops case as you won't need it and it's too late anyway

This is what I wanted to hear. Cheers Nick. 😀
Although the official thing is best you get the invoice with your classification by email after a day which only costs 4 EUR and seems to cover you until the real thing arrives
office sites much cheapness: https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/en/
If your not going to require a crit air sticker, and aren't going to the cities, I wouldn't bother. Much the same as I wouldn't bother getting a Swiss orAustrian vignette hth
Contact the lease company. You need either the log book or a letter from them confirming car is in your possession to drive in some of Europe anyway. Lease company should provide that letter.
I’d get one. Mine took about 5 days to arrive and a scan of your logbook would suffice. Ask the lease company to do it for you...?
Crit air zones have been expanded massively this year. Pretty much going to be passing through if you're heading south.
I drive in and around Grenoble every day. I've never needed it. We haven't even got around to getting it for our other car.
If you just come to France for a holiday, I wouldn't bother. It would be really bad luck if you found yourself bothered by not having it.
@superfli - the Crit Air is not the same as an Austrian or Swiss vignette.
