The dribble that I stood under earlier suggests our (Showerforce Turbo 2) shower pump has died after 7 years. I'm looking to replace it and can get a direct swap for about 126 quid. My question is are there any others out there that are just as simple, will possibly serve two showers (its one at the moment) and most importantly QUIETER!!
Thanks
Interested too, as the one in the house we've moved into sounds like a Rolls Royce Merlin engine has fired up in the airing cupboard...
Shoes for the shower, that's a silly idea. IGMC
Twin impeller pump. If want a really really good (expensive) one go for Stuart Turner, Salamander ones are a bit cheaper but just as good IME. Most will be noisy but it'll vary.
I recently replaced my noisy Danfoss pump which died and leaked water into my newly installed kitchen. I had always intended to replace it with a Salamander (better quality) as they do a quiet range. Bought the RSP50
As supplied by Screwfix.
Wow, what a difference. It was like comparing night and day. The noisiest thing is the sound of water splashing on the bath.
Highly recommended.
Just put a salamander twin jobbie in the airing cupboard to run both showers , you don't really hear it running when your having a shower and the extra water pressure is superb .
Also just fitted a Salamander RSP 50 last week to replace our 13 year old Salamander pump, which had a hell of a life and decided to go mental at 12:03 am last Monday night, all on its own. But I can let it off, as was a great pump. New RSP is a bigger pump and its a lot quieter too.
Changing from our current electric shower to a power shower is one of the jobs on my to-do list, is there a showertrackworld site?
This is relevant to my current list things to investigate. We've got terrible water pressure to two upstairs bathrooms. Is a pump in the loft a better solution than a pair of power showers?
What will you be running it off Dibbs? Will you still be wanting the shower to do the heating of the water or are you going to pipe hot and cold to it?
Mira do a power shower called the Event but I can't remember off the top of my head whether it heats as well. Triton do one similar but the model name escapes me at the minute.
Bear in mind that you're not allowed* to install a power shower on mains pressure water i.e. if you have a combi boiler.
To install a pump you'll need to have a hot water cylinder/gravity-fed cold water tank system.
*There are alternatives - try this page for info.
I'm currently replacing a bath and electric shower with a walk-in mixer shower, but fortunately our water pressure is pretty good.

Thats the sort of thing I was thinking, our house was initially all electric, but we had gas CH put in years ago and I've never got round to changing the shower.
