Any recommendations please for the above, for tradespeople to use to protect flooring. Reviews from a couple of the sheds are not good ie poor quality and sizing small.

Thanks.

Use carpet protectors or tell them to remove their shoes.

IME all disposable overshoes are rubbish.

I wouldn’t remove my safety shoes whilst working in your building . You wear them for a reason. Not least for your insurance if anything happened.

I would however supply my own overshoes protectors, or lay down a protective sheet / film as part of the cost of the work i wax doing.

Did anything ever come of that device on dragons den where you ran your foot over a device that had a cling film like substance that it “stuck” to the bottom of your shoe .

The sticky-backed carpet protector rolls are really good.

You can get proper reusable ones much better than the cheap blue things that leak

Tyvek 500 are very good, not cheap.

I found a bunch of orange ones with a slightly textured surface that a contractor had left in the boot of a lease car, which came in handy at the time, because I’d worn through the soles of my steelies, and as I was outside for 10-12 hours a day right through the winter, they worked really well for keeping my socks dry until I got some new boots. They were certainly thicker than the clingfilm quality blue ones.
As Saccades says, Tyvek ones may be the best option, just because the stuff is very tough and will last a lot longer, so a better option in the long run.

I keep meaning to get a couple of those Tyvek bunny suits to keep in the car for protection in poor weather during a breakdown or something. The sprayers at work wore them, and I meant to see if I could cadge one, but kept forgetting.

These might be suitable, they seem to be a thicker material;

How the hell do you post a link to an Amazon item? 😖

Done a screenshot, this is what to look for

Thanks all for your responses. Appreciate that with some trades it simply wouldn't be possible so may have to chill.

this is a better option than rolls of carpet/floor protecter if its more than just a quick job, should be able to get it from builders merchants. used a load of it recently to cover up floors i'd just tiled when it was still a messy building site outside with loads of other trades coming and going and it held up well.

The blue ones are just single use plastic rubbish.

I had to wear them when working in and out of hospital operating areas, they barely last the walk across the room, and get trashed by any sharp hard surfaces like ladders, and you've already forgotten by the first tea break to take them off when nipping out to the van rendering them useless.

And anything shoe based doesn't stop you stepping on a bit of metal, it lodging in the sole and then leaving scratches all down the hallway and kitchen.............

Correx is the correct answer for any hard floors. Sticky back floor protector is the correct answer for carpets (and doors, and curtains, and anything else, it's brilliant).

I'm not sure you want a crate of 500, but we use this on our construction sites https://cleanroomsuppliesltd.com/item/disposable-shoe-covers/cpe-pp-anti-slip-shoe-cover

Doesn't stop the occasional person wearing them all day, out to their vehicles, into smoking sheds then back into the job...
