Anyone use 3 in these areas? I know there is the service maps - but I am looking for real life experience.
Cosniderign them as the 3 contract has good data uasage limits - cheers
I use 3 and live in Leeds and never had a problem with them. 3G is really fast and use it to stream music and internet all the time. I bought a nexus 4 and got a sim only deal month on month
Same here, use it all over Leeds and get a good signal pretty much everywhere.
No idea about Sheffield or Darlington though, sorry.
I used to have 3 and the reception in Leeds was good but outside terrible with it cutting calls along the M621 (using a car kit of course), parts of Morley, Beeston and other areas of south Leeds and no reception at all in Heckmondwike.
Tried all sorts to get it fixed including a replacement phone. They would not accept that their was a network problem. Many hours talking to with the useless customer support got me know where. Couldn't get out of contract. Tried stopping payments until it was resolved and got a solicitors letter. Which I replied to with the details of the problem and received another with a threat of legal proceedings. Bought myself out of the contract with over 12 months left not a happy experience.
I live in Leeds and cover Yorkshire and the NE with work, so spend a lot of time talking on the phone whilst driving (hands free) 😆
I have been with 3 for 6 years and never had an issue with coverage in any of the areas listed, in all area i have had hspda and very occationally it drops to 3g
The coverage is WAY better on my personal 3 phone than my company vodafone which drops calls all the time.
many thanks for all the feedback - looks like I am on the right side of leeds to miss any problems that craig had - cheers all - heads of to get PAC code from Vodafone and order an xperia Z on 3 from carphone warehouse - mmmmh white, black or purple - what do you think?
Live over in Penistone but in Sheffield/Leeds pretty often aswell as the surrounding areas.
Had no problem with connections and speeds.
Get yourself a pay as you go sim and check out your exact locations for yourself, that's the only way really.
Have a personal iphone on 3 and my work blackberry on T-Mobile. No difference between the two for normal telephone use. I find 3 a lot better for internet than my old T-Mobile dongle ever was.
3 is the only network offering truly unlimited data plans, which is why I went with them.
