Anyone manage a Page on Facebook and can get reliable real time notifications when you receive a message? Which Android apps are you using and how do you get the notifications?
As much as I deeply dislike Facebook, most people communicate with my business through it but recently I've not been getting any notifications that I've been sent a message. If I don't reply quick enough, there's a chance I could lose the business so getting notifications in good time is important to me.
I've previously been getting messages/notifications through the Business Suite app, which was never instant but did eventually work. Now it's not pinging through any notifications and being generally useless. I've been through all the settings I can see and they're all what I'd expect to be set at... ie on. I even tried setting up SMS and email notifications for messages but they didn't come through either.
Any suggestions? The Facebook help pages don't give any useful answers.
Thanks!
Some phones can stop apps sending notifications in a timely manner by aggressive power management. There is an option in battery and power or somewhere like that to let certain apps get through.
Have you got messenger installed on your phone? that will do the trick surely. Its facebooks messaging app and notifies me every message I get
I never knew I could get them on messenger TJ, thanks!
Testing it seems to work but only when I've got messenger switched to the business page account. If I then use it as my personal profile it reverts back to that and won't ping for work messages. As in, it looks like it'll only ping up for the account it's switched to and no others.

This is wierd, I get pings from business messages and personal at the same time on messenger app.
You could try app twin? My phone has dual sim so lets me install 2 versions of messenger and whatsapp.
It is brilliant with whatsapp, I have work whatsapp for my work sim, and personal for my personal. I didn't bother with messenger as it worked great to manage personal and work account messages in one place. But maybe you should give it a go.
As an aside business suite sucks balls, all the FB business page stuff is shite, so I do not envy you

Yes as you say, if you have a business page and a personal page, the messages are separate.
I have to remember to switch back to my personal account after reading a message through my business account.
I still get a general notification on my phone that I've received a Messenger message though, whether that's personal or business.
You must have some hidden setting set. It's almost Rocket Surgery trying to navigate those permissions 😐

Me too then just click ont he account to change to the otherone.
Agree about the rocket surgery, FB has dissapeared up its own bum with needless complexity.

Never knew that feature existed, thanks! That'll save me from having to switch accounts.
With that set up, playing around with sending my business messages through the messenger pop up on my website, some ping up and some don't. I've delved deeper into notifications and battery settings but can't come to a conclusion as to why some ping and some don't. No genuine customer messages have made noises or given any sort of notification today either.
It does make me wonder what impact I'm having on my business' FB stats getting dozens of messages in such a short space of time. And then deleting them!
Seriously, if it weren't for running my own business I wouldn't go anywhere near FB!
