Am trading the DSLR kit in tomorrow - have been offered a fairish price and TBH due to it's size I'm not using it.
Have decided to go mirrorless and the 3 above all look good - I like the Sony but theres a good deal on the Lumix with 2x lenses for £500 and TBH I don't know much about the Olympus
Any recommendations?
Can't really comment on the Lumix or Olympus but I have a Sony A6000, have the standard 16-50 kit lens, Sigma 30mm f1.4 and the 55-210 kit lens.
I generally use the 30mm the most because it is such a great lens, I take photos of all sorts to be honest, nothing too defining and it's really rather sharp.
I was in a position like you where I went from a DSLR (Canon 1100d) to a mirrorless and the difference was incredible, straight away there was a noticeable difference in how much better the Sony was. The Sony is so much smaller too (although the 30mm is pretty big!) So it's handy to just stick in a bag or whatever.
Generally at an amatuer level, the only thing I'd consider trading my a6000 for would be a 6500.
Hopefully someone with more camera knowledge can chip in. I'd try find you some example shots but on mobile just now, will try tomorrow if I remember!
I have Oly EM5 mk2 and EM1 mk2 with a nice set of pro lenses. Great cameras the EM1 astonishing! Olympus have probably the best tech in the M4/3 market and the lenses, especially the pro ones are suberb plus they are built like tanks along with the bodies and weather sealed too. Check out the IS on the EM1.2 or new 1x! Oh and Livecomp mode if you wanna get creative.
What sort of photography do you do?
I^ve got a Sony A6300 (just downsized as well...) so I'm biased but the Sony has a much bigger sensor than the other two. That *should" equate to better quality photos, all else being equal...
I ended up getting the GX9 twin lens kit - really impressed with the feel of it and amazed how small the telephoto zoom is on it. I think a 20mm 1.7 will be the first purchase
