Right; my 6yo now has a fish tank. While I will be closely monitoring it.I would like to populate it with something a bit more colourful than Goldfish. Any suggestions for something social, colourful and (cough) resilient?

White cloud mountain minnows are lovely colourful super active little fish, pretty sure they are happy in coldwater but worth checking. They love a current so a little power filter is a good idea.

I think they are pretty tough - one of mine jumped into a shopping bag and went on a trip to the supermarket, was discovered there, came back, and managed a few minutes of spasmodic swimming before giving up the ghost. Amazed it lasted that long though!

I had frogs as a single guy...Managed to convince a stoned mate to lick one 😳 (obviously didn't let him in the end) Besides,he is 6(son,not mate); frogs didn't do much iirc.
