So its his 18th next week and its proving tricky coming up with ideas to make it a special day for him whilst stuck indoors with no visitors allowed. Going to obviously do the first legal drink thing, get the barbie out, put up a few banners and do an online pub quiz with the rest of the family but need a couple of really original ideas to make it memorable please.

1 out or 2 Binners!

If his friends love close could they walk past the house and say hello/raise a glass from the end of the driveway?

Get him his favourite takeaway ordered in.

Massive Man Utd fan, loves films, loves his x box. Typical, slightly nerdy 17 year old. Not even remotely interested in biking. (or drugs, booze and hookers but its early days)

An evening watching the Class of 92, then the FA cup semi-final from 99, then the Champions League final, then burn an effigy of Jurgen Klopp in the back garden

Try to contact the football club to see if they/one of the players can record a video message for him?

Teach him Poker with real cash - You give everyone in the house (assuming you have enough people) £20 in cash to bet with and the winner keeps the cash.

Book something for 6 months time that you can reveal on the day - Slight cop out, but it gives him some anticipation time.

I have just found an Old Trafford stadium tour that looks quite good, may book him on that. The player message idea could be good, bit of a longshot but great if it came off.

Mrs Sandwich was a year older last Thursday and my goddaughter is 30 today. Happy birthday nostrils.

Contact his mates and arrange an online meet on Jitsi, Zoom or the like? Surprise him on the night.

Bottle of Jack and a couple of glasses?

Late post, but the radio has just done a 'shout out' to the dad who built a crazy golf course in his back garden for his sons 18th... Depends on your garden, DIY skills and materials available, but seems like a bit of a different idea that will create some memories.....
