So, if you were going to get your Mrs something to play her music through, would you go for a pair of 1's or a single 3 ? Or perhaps neither ?
To answer the question depends on how many rooms to use it across.
its nice to have two in one room and really get 'stereo' altho the quality from one is adequate for most people.
I would likely give her the option and get two. that way she can decide herself if she wants to have two in a room or one in two rooms so as she moves around the house she gets the same tunes.
Of course the added bonus of having it on different rooms is you can also listen to different things at the same time, so you can blast out Metallica while she chills to a bit of the Carpenters. 🙂
I know that Christmas is coming up, but given the recent replacement of the Sonos 5 I would wonder if a new play 1/3 are on their way early next year ?
I have a Sonos 3 - it is OK sound wise, but far from spectacular. It was bought to replace a Squeezebox and Linn system in a room with 2 hyper cats who loved biting cables. It functions well at having less cables, but I'm far from certain I would expand my Sonos system into other rooms.
Probably a pair of 1's, so that you also had the option to use them separately in different rooms.
