Having a sort out of old CD's and found Lost Prophets album. There's some songs I'd like to blast out on there but can't bring myself to do it.

For entirely different reasons, there's probably a number of the wife's Westlife song's I could happily listen to, but...Westlife.

Which songs would you like to hear sung by a different artist or covered in a different style?

Michael Jackson.
Lots of really good songs, not at all keen on his voice.

See also Whitney Houston.

Most smashing pumpkins songs. Great songwriter, best drummer in the world but corgans voice is an acquired taste

Also he's an apologist for Alex Jones / infowars bit I spose that pales into comparison with Ian Watkins...

Anything/everything by Chvrches. Think i'd like them if the squeaky voice didn't irritate me (although their most recent stuff would be a push anyway)

Just do it. It's my guilty pleasure too.

Agree, and the same goes for the Manics.

Levi Stubbs Tears by Billy Bragg sung by Levi Stubbs.

Good call, although I don’t have a problem with the Bard of Barking’s voice, he’s not the most tuneful of singers.
Richard Thompson is another, it’s taken me years to come to appreciate his songs as sung by him, I’ve always preferred covers of his songs, but either I’ve grown to appreciate his voice more, or else his voice has gained depth with age. More likely a bit of both.

A good Ian Brown song, sung by a decent female voice.

Somebody cover one!

I get the comments about Billy Corgans voice ..it is very nasally and an acquired taste ..but replacing him with another singer..?
No way !
I love their sound just the way it is ..
Re-hashing the thread title ever so slightly to " Songs you wish had never been sung " ..anything and everything by Abba ..utter pish

@joshvegas..😁.
I didn't say that anyone else couldn't like them ..its just that I've never been in to plinky plonky pop shite ..
Hardly my fault that millions of people have got no musical taste whatsoever ..

Haha! Challenging someone's choices on a music thread. Even I've learnt that one. Still get shit for stuff from 10 years ago though 😆

Dez ..just did it for the fun of it ..( even though my opinion of them holds true ) ..
I also learnt a long time ago that challenging other folks musical tastes was only going to have one loser ( me ) ..
I still get a kick out of doing it though ..lol

this is the least singletrack conversation ever.

I have noticed your restraint recently DezB, as I scroll down a music thread then I see you name pop up and I think oh good its going to kick off.

I am dissapoint.

I'd like to hear a punk band cover I kissed a girl by Katy Perry...

Anything by Hozier, I'm not a massive fan, but I like his Songs (I think it's a 'he' and not a band) but 'he' simply has no range whatsoever.

Same for George Ezra, like the songs and the singer, dislike the voice.

I don't think I'm that good a singer. I can't think of a song that I've written that I don't like the way somebody else sings it better.

Kris Kristofferson

With regard to Kris Kristofferson ..while that may be true.. I thought he was brilliant in "A Star Is Born" alongside Barbara Streisand
