Sounds positive.

Perhaps a phall may be a miracle cure - well it should get him moving at least 😉

Giving a phall to a lad who's got a bad knee preventing him walking may be not be a wise move...

Time for an update.

He's coming home on day release this weekend(*) !

He's much improved, still has a few memory problems but you would never guess. The really encouraging bit is that he has a very different attitude to life now. I don't want to go into too much detail, but I think it's fair to say he's a changed person, for the better.

(*) I'm fetching him in the falling-apart MX5, so it's just possible he'll actually spend the day by the side of the A14 watching lorries roar past...

Every time this thread pops up, I hope for the best, but fear for the worst.

So pleased to read good news!

Time for an update.

Well, they've decided to kick him out of the secure unit he was in, and he's now back home! He was hating it, and was very happy to be out.

There's still a lot ahead of him, and we don't know how things will work out, but he seems much happier and easier going, and is generally a delight to have around.

General musings as to wonder how things are? Not expecting it to be all sunshine updates 'n' all that, but would be nice to know how you all are progressing, if you feel like talking about it, that is.

Might be better sending the OP an e-mail (in his profile) in future so he can bump it himself or let it fade. He posted something about planning a holiday with the kids recently which sounded positive.

The thread has had a significant influence on how I've dealt with junior who is 18 now over the last year. Madame and I have had a rock and roll year but we're still standing. I've left the family home on some occasions to let things calm down (or was it Madame who threw me out?), some nice stuff by Fender got smashed, feds were visited, but it didn't quite get to blows or worse. He knows where the door is now, me too, at long last we are both are making an effort to cohabit and some messages seem to have got through - time will tell. A few more months and he goes his own way, my job is nearly done, I hope. I have reason to be more positive than this sounds but after the amount of crap that's come my way I struggle to get more than cautiously optimistic on-line. He has a girlfriend !

All of you out there with kids go back to the first page of this thread and read it though, don't judge anyone, don't try to imagine what you would or wouldn't have done, but when things start kicking off with yours (which they will at some level) you'll be better armed.

Thanks all.
