Twotofour, dorking, relatively fancy uk cooking nice atmosphere

That's a massive area, so many to choose from. What sort of thing are you looking for?

Wotton Hatch is nice
Chequers Inn at Rowhook is more toward the middle of the triangle
Fox Inn at Bucks Green likewise
Richard Onslow in Cranleigh is decent
The Seahorse at Shalford
More curry houses/Italians than you can shake a stick at - Curry Inn in Cranleigh is excellent or Olivo in Guildford.

The Percy Arms in Chilworth. Fantastic burgers last time I went.

@njee I never miss an opportunity to bad mouth the Seahorse, my daughter worked there and when a table did a runner they took their bill out of her wages, they also keep half of any tips.

OP big area, to add one of my favourites William Bray in Shere (decent pub food). Pretty village used in various movies like wedding scene in Bridget Jones, the Holiday. Lots of options in Guildford eg Cote Bistro or Loch Fyne both near the old castle.

@dknwhy's recommendation of Drake's is probably the best restaurant in the area

@mudshark, sadly its not uncommon. From memory it was nearly a week's wages.

Indeed...I know the area well, but you need to say what sort of food, what type of establishment (smart/casual Pub/restaurant, ideal location) and roughly how much you want to spend in order to get a proper recommendation. 😕

Probably £35 a head plus booze. As long as it's nice food we're not fussed.

Well if you want to meet your friends in an area of outstanding natural beauty, then the aforementioned Wooton Hatch 8/10 is in the great spot, the William Bray in Shere 7/10, not so pretty, but in a chocolate box village. Up the hill towards Guildford is a popular Italian (Carlo's)7/10 that does excellent but a bit more expensive food. However two very high recommendations for the best place is the Onslow Arms in West Clandon10/10 and The Queens Head in East Clandon 9/10...both owned by the same people, the food is excellent, but you need to book well in advance. My ratings BTW. 8)
