...have to shake your head.

I bought tickets for mrs. G and myself to see Cirque du Soleil tomorrow night as sort of a pre~Christmas present.

mrs just told me that she is now concerned she is going to miss the final of Strictly Come Doddering.

she is now frantically trying to find someone to record it for her.

Can you not get Bluewin TV where you are? Or Cablecom?

Obviously, it could be tricky with one days notice..:-)

A possible solution for you.

You will need;
a - A patio
b - A shovel

Iphide I've used that in Spain to listen to football on 5 Live. Just choose a UK option and the BBC website assumes your in the UK. I haven't tried it with I player but it's worth a try.

to be honest, I don't think anyone with tickets to see Cirque du Soleil can have any argument about what anyone else wants to do with their free time. jebus.

Grynch - doubtless your good lady will have reached some sort of resolution by now - however.....

In the spirit of Christmas - and Grynch happy matrimony 😀

We're out tomorrow as well so Strictly will be recorded on our Hard Drive / DVD combo things - I'm 90% sure this means we can dump hard drive stuff onto a disk, which could be posted to Swizzerland. I'll check the destructions for said device when I get home later, this may give you a fall-back position........ 😉

Marsdenman, if you think that you're gonna have bother doing the recording, then I can do it if the Grynch so wishes as I've been doing the same for a Swedish friend lately. (Not SCD, btw, that would be sad ... :))

Try this link

Torrent for UK shows only. Quite popular with expats. That's if they have any login left.

Sorry for late reply. Bluewin TV is exactly like SkyPlus, you get all the normal channels from the UK (inc BBC HD) but no Sky One etc...
As far as I know you can only get Sky here in Switzerland if you have an address in the UK registered for Sky? I don't.

I could have recorded this for you and copied it to a DVD but I'm in the process of moving apartments and my Bluewin stuff was unplugged in a van on Saturday night... 🙂

We were planning to see the CDS in Geneva as well, but it never happened with moving plans and all the rest... I hope you enjoyed the show.

Not according to my missus. Her appraisal of the situation is that divorce would be entirely justified. I shall remind her of this at any opportune moment that arises....

Works better if you don't already have a patio- it just looks plain odd if you dig up the one you already have. Elementary brookside error.

Hi Grynch,
Did or friend sort you our with the videos?
Let me know if not - both shows still sat on the hard drive, and I believe I have located the instructions for transfer to disk 😀

BTW - how was the show - we're thinking of booking for when they hit the UK early next year?
Chris

hiya chris, I couldnt reply yesterday as I was waiting on confirmation but yes.. we are all set with the video but once again thanks for the offer.

the show? have you ever seen them before? it was great but frankly we both thought that the previous time we had seen them was better, but that may have been due to perspective. Previously we had seen them in their own venue.. the big top, but this time was in an arena and you lose a bit of the feeling looking down on them.

all that being said tho again the show was fantastic, and you do leave wondering how humans can do some of the moves they perform.

cheers,
greg

No worries Greg, good to hear it's sorted.

CDS - yep seen 'em 4 times now and, agree, their tent is the better venue - saw them at the Albert Hall and it was odd being below them...

Have a great crimbo and new year
C
