So; never having had a bum steer from here (Disturbed sound of silence cover excepted)Can anybody point me in the direction of something that is similar to Explosions in the Sky? Doing Minibus duty for our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh group tomorrow and will have plenty of time dropping the bus at the end and walking back on what looks like being a nice sunny day. I also like PSB, but is are there any similar hidden gems out there I have missed?

I'm guessing you already have Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor in there but if not then that's what you should listen to RIGHT NOW.
Thanks, Northwind, cracking song and nice cranks as well!

Godspeed you black emperor are essential listening.
Pivot (now called PVT, i believe)
Paint The Sky Red
We Lost The Sea
April Rain
Break My F***ing Sky (<--I'll probably get banned for that but its the band name, theyre Russian I think)
Have a look at the Youtube channel called "Worldhaspostrock" for more.
EDIT - forgot these
Some good suggestions already, I'll add God is an Astronaut, Collapse Under the Empire, Chemtrail.
For something a bit more chilled/electronic, try The American Dollar, Lights Out Asia, French Teen Idol, port royal.
If you aren't familiar with GSYBE (and A Silver Mt Zion for that matter) then you could be in for a big treat.
Guapo may also hit the spot.
I see EITS are touring again in the autumn, by the way.
I love this band, their latest album seems to leave my ears ringing even when I've been listening at fairly low volume on the home system, and they're sodding loud live!
