Someone is sitting on the wing of your car.
Do you tell them to get off?
Just walk up to them and punch them in the face 😉
oh and
I used to ride with a guy, who while getting his bike out of the van, took his keys out of his pocket and causally put them on the bonnet of the car next to us while he sorted his camelbak. Nice chap, but wtf?
Slat hoofage level 5.
It's only a car.
There are many more things that are actually important to worry yourself about.

Who the **** are you to decide how other people should prioritise what is important to them?

Or stalking?
Who the **** are you to decide how other people should prioritise what is important to them?
A forum member who is responding to a chat forum question. I'd ask if you have a problem with that but apparently you do.
Who the **** are you to decide how other people should prioritise what is important to them?
Knob response.
If I was in a good mood I'd maybe warn them they were likely to get their clothes dirty.
A forum member who is responding to a chat forum question.
I'd figured that much out. But still, why do you think you can decide for somebody else what should/shouldn't be important to them?
daewoo matiz - yes, purely for their own safety.
Peugeot 206 - Nah can't be bothered.
If you are worried get little bollards with some coloured rope.
I'd figured that much out. But still, why do you think you can decide for somebody else what should/shouldn't be important to them?
Try reading between the lines and not taking a forum post so literally.
"[In my opinion] There are many more things that are actually important to worry yourself about."
Does that help your enraged little mind?
It's only [s]a car[/s] [s]a bike[/s] a wife.
Let it go once and where will it end?
Try reading between the lines and not taking a forum post so literally.
I'm fully aware that it's your opinion. I didn't think for a moment that it was a Universal, objective truth, which, funnily enough, is why I'm disagreeing with it. So it doesn't change a thing: why, in your opinion, should you decide what is/isn't important to another person?
Someone did recently and scratched mine, I was really miffed!
It might only be a car but I worked hard to buy it and don't appreciate others damaging it!
So it doesn't change a thing: why, in your opinion, should you decide what is/isn't important to another person?
FFS! 🙄 😆
OP,
You should ask them politely not to sit on your car.
If they do not response then you really need to beat them silly like kicking their head in. Your property and you have earned with your hard earn sweat and blood, so why should they try to treat it like theirs? It is not theirs.
However, be prepared to have your car damage in return, therefore, if you kick their heads in let them know next time you would kick them, their family, people around them and you would burn their house and their neighbour house down. After all, they can do whatever they want to your property then you can do the same.
😡
^^^^Well, they ruined that thread pretty quickly^^^
This really boils my p***
I used to have to tell so many people to get off the Midget (mostly asian girls posing or taking selfies) that I stuck a laminated sign in the glovebox when parked anywhere remotely 'British' as thats where it was worst.
[s]
Straw[/s] sledgehammer that broke the cammels back was a row of them sat on the bonnet. Language barrier wasn't an issue in articulating my feelings.
yr laminated sign should have said "£10 per person per photo"
yr laminated sign should have said "£10 per person per photo"
The thought crossed my mind but I'd rather actually enjoy a day out without the constant feeling of having to come back to a load of scratches on the wing.
A few years ago prior to flogging it I'd saved hard & was fortunate enough to buy my dream car a M3 CSL which was one of the last made 17k miles, so I walked back my car & there's this kid half sat on the wing, looked at me with a kind of F*7K of having my picture taken so I politely said get the (8&k of my car with which he replied oh yeah ... so a slight scruff of the kneck move & dragged him of my car.
What pissed me of was the total lack of respect for some one elses property, I'd worked hard many years away offshore to buy the car for some scroat to potentially scratch / dent it, sold the car but very much appreciated if for what it was, for too many years I've had a people carrier for throwing bikes inside it & sadly I don't give a hoot about it, poor old bus but she does a cracking job.
I once came out of a pub to be greeted by my mates stood on the roof and bonnet of my car. It was a banger and it was a regular occurrence.
Except this time it wasn't, mine was parked round the corner....
I dont sit on my bonnet.
Skip to 2:02. The guy in the red shirt was trying to tell if it was metal or plastic. When I finally walked over he was just getting his keys out to tap the boot!
Cars have metal shells so that the sensitive insides don't get damaged. These shells are designed to take the occasional 80mph piece of gravel hitting them, seagull poo and all sorts. Someone sitting on them with feet on the ground, or putting keys down isn't likely to cause harm, so get off your high horse.
Or keep it in the garage if you're so precious.
I find it really odd that people are defending people sitting on someone elses car without the owners permission.
If you have respect for other peoples property you wouldn't do it nor would you condone it. Car wings and bonnets do get dented by people sitting on them, the paintwork does get tiny scratches from dirt or clothing, especially jeans with metal rivets. Apart from the obvious annoyance the damage may devalue the car so you are causing that person a loss by ignorant, mindless and unnecessary action. It is trivial in the grand scale of things but it is something which shouldnt be an issue as people shouldnt do it.
I'm not a hardman of any description - Internet or otherwise, but should someone sit on the bonnet or any other part of the protective "metal shell" of a car of mine and there is a kick in the teeth coming their way.
Respect other people and their possessions. It's bloody important to treat people with dignity and decency.
Thanks for the input Moses. I was asking a question. I don't have a high horse.
It's my car and I don't like people using it as a perch, especially when I try to look after my things.
Could have been worse

Is the car parked blocking the pavement like most of them around this way?
Meh, I don't care. If I'm gonna be an antisocial git by running a car in the first place I may as well provide some temporary street furniture.
If you have respect for other peoples property you wouldn't do it nor would you condone it.
+1
not on really, irrespective of the value of the car.
how do/would you react when someone leans something against your bike or jumps on the saddle because they want a sit down?
Wouldn't do it, and would be annoyed if someone did it to my car. It's a simple case of respect. Clearly there's quite a few on here who lack it
I once got told off and giving a producer by a police officer, for sitting on top of my car in a car park once.
I was a very young looking and immature 17yo to be fair.
He did try his best to nab me for something, spent ages checking the car and me out, seemed quite miffed when he could not book me for anything!
Apparently its not illegal to sit on your own car 😉

Absolutely.

Respect is earned. You don't earn it by owning a car, no matter what the television tells you.

Are you confusing "I don't mind if someone's sitting on my car" with "I'm happy to sit on yours"?
Respect is earned. You don't earn it by owning a car, no matter what the television tells you.
No, you earn it by being a fellow human being.
This is hilarious , what a bunch of emotional saps.
Someone stood on a Elise once and his mates took pics. He then put it on his facebook.
It ended up on pistonheads forum and escalated badly for the bloke. From memory someone sent screenshots to his boss etc.
If you sit on my car....
You're gonna have a dirty arse.
People may need to earn respect, my property doesn't. If it's not yours you don't touch it.

You clearly can't read either. I just said I wouldn't do it

This. Not enough of it around in Britain.
I'm struggling to see how kicking someone in the face is treating them with respect and dignity. It's bloody important to treat people with dignity and decency.
Depends what you mean by "sitting" - I quite often lean/sit against the wing of a car if I stop to chat to someone in the street; I've never considered sitting squarely in the centre of the bonnet though! I just do it out of habit I suppose, bit like leaning against a wall/lamp post/sign post etc.
Threads involving cars are always funny, I can't work out who is trolling and who isn't.
Anyway, you shouldn't sit on other peoples things without asking. Pretty simple I'd have thought?
Does this only apply to the more exotic end of the market?
I run a shitbox Focus and nobody feels the need to sit on it or have their picture taken with it.

Are you old, infirm, unstable on your feet? I'm curious why you couldn't just stand ?
There's a perfectly good, sturdy stone wall next to it if anyone wants to sit down, and no, it wasn't parked across the pavement

Because he's 'The Dude'... man... and he was taking five to toke a doob.
You on the other hand, are C. Montgomery Burns; the rod up your ass has got a rod up its ass.
😉

But dude, somebody like totally owns that wall. Respect what's not yours dude!
I'm loving that so many car owners are asking for respect when that's the one thing that's conspicuously absent on the roads. 😕
Pfft. I once went to my van in the morning to go to work, to find a complete picnic table & chairs on the roof.
'twas funny to be fair.
(Belgrave Road, Torquay, 2003 if anyone knows the perps)
And I'd take the rod out of my ass to beat you with, layabout
😉

Haha, quality! No wonder people hate cyclists!
Hmm weird thread this .......
So it's fine to sit on others peoples stuff nowadays then 🙂
So does this apply to your bikes as well then ...happy to come out bogs and see someone sat on yer full susser...
I was always brought up to respect other people and their things..... If it's not yours don't touch - simples.
I was casually eating a vegetarian wrap from McDonald's when I realised some fat kit was sitting on my bonnet, so I hard-floored the throttle, he flew off somewhere, but I didn't have time to stop before running into some poor bastard on a Specialised Hard Rock.
I think he posts here as gofasterstripes. He came off the bike, and fell in between the wing of my car and McDonald's wall, his head got pushed up against the brickwork.
I LOLd.

That's got to be you fishing for responses! You're implying people shouldn't respect others property?!?!?!?!
So you'd be happy with someone just sitting on and potentially damaging your bike?
Does this apply to everything, or just cars? Once I leave the house I don't own many of the things around me.If it's not yours don't touch - simples.

Well I wouldn't sit on your model aeroplane. But we kind of shove our cars into the shared environment. So they're a bit like rubbish, shit trees.
I don't cause any damage if I lean on a parked car; can't see the issue. Just like I won't cause damage to a wall, or a kerb stone if I decide to sit on it.
I think there's definitely a few that're too prissy about their cars; they are just cars afterall. We'll be getting alot of the prissy ones up here in the Lakes come school holidays; complete bunch of minges who refuse to drive within two foot of the hedgerow/dyke incase they scratch their cars. Turns out they don't know how to reverse either! 😆
i honestly can't believe people are justifying people sitting on other peoples property!
Do you have people just come and sit in your houses?
I look after my own property, i don't want someone i don't know sitting on it!
This thread is bizarre!
David - really? Why is it not ok for people to care about their cars? Just because you don't doesn't mean you shouldn't respect others!
NSFW... 😆
Can I just check something, most people posting here are totally sauced-up on old spice, surely?!
Do you have people just come and sit in your houses?
Yes.
😀
Turns out they don't know how to reverse either!
My personal favourites are the 4x4 drivers who refuse to mount a kerb or put a wheel on the verge ( I appreciate it might be someone else's verge). I thought Top Gear had demonstrated that you can drive across Africa in a shagged out Peugeot rendering the Cheslea tractor redundant.
hmmmm i'm totally blown away by this thread!
I'm off out to lean on a few cars and see the response i get!
How worked up do you folks get when kids kick a ball into your gardens?
I'm off out to lean on a few cars and see the response i get!
Let me know if you're coming round my way. I'll leave you a can of pop under the wheel-arch. It's still very warm out there!
I believe people kick the shit out of them. In flip flops.

😀 . Tbh I was basing that more on my experience as a pedestrian and driver. 😉
Did somebody say flip flops? Sounds dangerous.
Maybe the people who are really angry about it misread the thread title as "Someone shitting in your car"?
Also - yeah thanks covert. Glad I sued your ass.

Yes.
Can I come along too?
What do you have in your fridge?
Can I cook some fish & chips while there?
What's the larger?
You do the washing up while I eat and watch telly ...
😆
