As in, a book that teachers you how to draw. But preferably one aimed at computer based drawing. My wife uses Krita but we could maybe be persuaded to get a copy of Illustrator if it's worth it. But then, she only has a reasonably lightweight tablet (Surface 3) so Illustrator may not be a good idea. Krita doesn't work that well tbh.
Not computer related but the go to book in my art school days was Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. More about looking at stuff and how to turn it into pictures. Quite interesting. I wouldn't bother with a book about a computer package. Just start using it and if you hit a block then watch a YouTube tutorial

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain seems very conceptual, rather than technical. I was thinking more in terms of actual technique.
just follow the lessons and your technique will develop. Its a very good book.
I thought it was fascinating - not sure my wife will have time to sit and read it but it's worth a try. Thanks folks.
