Trying to clear up after a 1 night sleep over from a 4 year old I managed to clear the 'stuff' off the desk to reveal a pile of half a dozen of these round bands.
I havew finally found a use for them. Guess what

sweat bands for your wee man?
Tourniquet?
Bunching up collections of squirrel tails?
Eyes and nose for chainsaw sculpture?
Decorative bum garland?
I used to use the bigger ones to bundle up our passports for international travel (when that was a thing)
Are we bored enough to watch you turn them in to art?
Mouse scarves
I know the answer to this.
You put them in your back pocket, and keep collecting them there.
If you don't fill your pocket before you wash your trousers, then you lose, and you have to empty the washing machine filter as penance.
If you do fill your pocket before you wash your trousers, then you win, and you empty said pocket into some safe repository so at least all the damn things are in one place. The game then starts again and the four year old recommences entropy-informed distribution of round bands around the house.
Suspiciously specific reply there, tomparkin.
@tomparkin wins - they're sold to keep washing machine repairmen in business
Someone little left these on my desk – guess what they are for
In my house they are more commonly used for making a bit of a mess in every corner than for putting in hair.
****ing up washing machines.
Edit: a bit late to the party I see.
Budget fork wipers seals?
I apparently only ever use them wrong for their intended purpose or hair retention on a 4 year old

I have deep experience in the field
What fasthaggis said 😛

Same here. My washing machine drum also has perforations too small to eat them so they usually end up in the door seal.
I keep the old ones that my girls don't like - really useful for all sorts of stuff, they don't degrade like normal elastic bands do. Cables, kit
Or do they decorate your gearstick in your car?
I give you a real use for them

Aw that's a poor effort there WCA ,you could have turned them in to a tiddlywinks game. The clip used as a launcher, the bands as wee nest/targets with different points for each colour.#funfirall 😉 🙂
Aw, spoilers. I was going to go with "projectile weaponry."
But yeah, I've used hair bands* to tie up things like USB cables for years.
(* - Motely Cure, Poison...)
@WCA - now that’s a neat idea, next time I come across any rummaging around in cars, I’ll keep them for that; if got lots of cables that could do with a tidy-up.
@Cougar - what you did there…👏🏻😁
The best use is for firing at your cat...they can't help but play...

Shame about the spelling, but brings back memories of my misspent youth
I realised that about 5 minutes outside the edit window and hoped I'd got away with it. (-:
One for the mashups thread
Oh, shit, I thought MCTD meant Motley rather than Motley! I didn't spot the Cure slip at all.
A real fan wouldn't have missed off the umlauts
Yeah, the problem there though is, I simply couldn't be ringed. I'd have C&Ped it from Google if I'd known there was going to be a test.
No denial of being a fan there 😁
Somafunk wins.
The mental image is brilliant.
With apologies to the late Sean Lock,
The mental image is a challenging ****.

washing machines have filters? oh dear.
Budget fork wipers seals?
or perhaps those things that really old people put round their hubs to keep them shiny?
sweat bands for your wee man?
This is a hilarious but unwanted image.
This is a hilarious but unwanted image
and could lead to some awkward questions in the future 😆
"Grandad, where have my hair bands gone?"
Shame about the spelling, but brings back memories of my misspent youth
misspelt surely?
