Not mentioning any names to avoid potential embarrassment but someone on here has helped me out ,without me asking ,in a way none of my friends ( in the past ..as deliberately isolated for last decade ) have or would have done.

I started a thread on here 29 plus related and although not yet looking ,someone offered me my close to perfect frame ....one that would sell very quickly and isn't easy to find.

We conversed over email and I took longer than usual to reply as I was struggling with my mental health as I often do these days .

I mentioned this and we found common ground .

Next thing I knew he offered me the frame with dropper and other parts as a gift ..to help me out as He knew my finances are tight due to illness.

I didn't think I deserved it ..so many are in more need and I have a relatively privileged life in the big scheme of things .

He insisted though and told me to help someone out in the future ..which I will certainly do and have done in the past .

Maybe Karma does exist .

This person was also not flush with money as far as I can make out but also included a dropper post and other goodies.

It all arrived this morning ..beautifully packaged and things got better as the listed size was likely to be slightly too long from an effective top tube length point of view and I was going to have to compromise . The printed info however was wrong and in my favour and was in fact pretty much my perfect length.

I was in two minds whether to post this up but these days ..with so much bad news, greed and awful behaviour I wanted to express my gratitude as for a long time I felt the majority of humans were , to be blunt, not particularly nice creatures ...myself included.

So there you go ..a little "feel good story" ( I accept it's mainly me that's benefiting ) but I shall remember this for a long long time and I think his selfless unconditional generosity will help me in the long run to help others more ....so everyone wins .

I will finish with a quote from the Dalai Lama that seems fitting :
"If you want others to be happy practice compassion , If you want to be happy practice compassion " ...Lets all do it more !

Regards from Devon
Happy Bill .

That's a proper good demonstration of human kindness that is. Genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Nice one. 🙂

That's why I love this forum. In between the usual bikering that goes on on certain threads occasionally ones like this pops up and restores my faith in humanity. Hope you all the best Kaiser and well played to the anonymous donor

Indeed, a great read, but I'm going to need more to get past some of the comments on the latest dog hating thread... 😉
