how do you apply sun cream to your back? Or do you just keep your shirt on?

I’ve always travelled with my wife & she would do my back, but she passed away last year

I did a six month round the world trip solo a while back. Just kept my shirt on, tbh it’s more comfortable in really hot places

Aerosol-type sunscreens. Or wear a t-shirt / rash vest.

Google "sun lotion applicator" or similar.
You can get applicators that look like back brushes/scrubbers

Back Scrubber Style

or more like a strip of material with handles, like this:

Material strip version...

Spray on stuff works well for this (aerosol one not pump lotion)

Can't think of any situation I'd be topless outside. Maybe in the hotel pool, but slathering on the sun cream before jumping in would be a bit anti social. Shirt or t-shirt when out and about, rash vest when swimming or snorkeling in the sea.

Spray on works fine. I travel a lot on my own and you kind of get used to it. Just be careful when tanning your back as you obviously can’t put it on thoroughly.

The paint roller is a great idea though!!

You can pretty much learn the knack, I did when I was in South Africa a few years ago.

I probably won’t spend much time on the beach, but you never know. Beached whale watch might get called out!

Out & about will be shirt or t-shirt. Pool? Probably not
