Looking for recommendations for a solar installer that covers Yorkshire (South Leeds).
Have a three bed semi, looking to get panels on both sides of roof and have a system that can be added to later with hot water tank and battery (they will have to wait for ££).
Over to the good folk of STW to suggest! Thanks.

Dual Fuel Solutions were fine for me. Reasonable price and although they missed the first installation date due employee sickness they called to let me know and turned up as promised a few days later.

Very neat install and they were able to source batteries unlike other companies.

I get a bonus if I recommend a new customer so let me know if you go with them.

Two people on my street (Calderdale) have used this company https://p4solar.co.uk/ Think it’s been about £8k for a semi with battery and tank.

Just to follow up on this.
Contacted all companies above (four).
All seemed decent companies and replied quickly.
In the end we have just had an install from P4Solar as they offered a solution that I thought technically better (7kW max charge/discharge rate rather than the normal 3.5kW limit, plus Octopus smart tarif ready).
Anyhow 18x 405w longi panels, twin Lux squirrel inverters and 12.8kW (four) Greenlinx batteries.
Great system and even in yesterday’s semi manky weather we were off grid for 24hours!

You'll be permanently in shade on the wrong side of the pennines.

@CHB - make sure you have a connection agreement with NPg if that’s a 7kW solar installation. You should do if Octopus are talking to you.

The system is limited to the regulated 3.68kW to the grid, so falls under G98. The batteries can supply 7kW to the house, but neither the batteries or solar will ever pass more than 3.68kW back to the grid. Panels are massively over specced, but I did this so that even in early spring and late autumn we will be off grid. On Tuesday we had a smidge of sun (think a cloud lingered over Salford and didn't make it to Leeds) and the panels supplied the house for the full day and topped up the battery to 75%.

Fair enough.

If you want fault ride through that’s G99 so you would theoretically need a G99 agreement - but you may not want or have that facility. I do and went G99 and 8kW export.

But then I’m the Head of Connections Design at NPg so I kind of have to follow the rules - and encourage others to do so too.

CHB what was the total cost ?

What will you do with your excess energy on a good day, or have you batteries got capacity to store it all?

Cost was around £15k. At the moment any excess will be wasted, unless my i3 is plugged in. But the medium term plan is aircon/air ASHP and a PV/ASHP water cylinder. The batteries are 12.8kW so have a lot of storage before we export. Its an AC coupled system, most others seem to be DC coupled. The 7kW demand capacity was what swung me to P4Solar. Spectra solar were second choice and impressed me with their quote and responsiveness.
