Hi, anybody have any recommendations for a solar charger that will keep an Android phone going?
I'm probably going to be without electricity for a few days at a time (Indian countryside) so a charger that can clip or hang from a camelback and trickle charge a phone and its own internal battery would be useful.
I bought one earlier this year from Aldi for about £40 which is excellent. Four A4 panels that fold up. Charges two devices at a time. I use it to charge a 7200MAHr pack in the day and use the pack to charge at night. If I want to it'll charge my phone PDQ in the day.
There are some with a 12V outlet too which look handy.
if you're lugging it around, compare the size and weights to a portable battery pack.
I get 6-7 charges out of one of these. On minimal phone use, that'll mean over 2 weeks use of my phone, or just over a week of heavier use.

Bought one at the start of summer. I read a load of reviews and this one came out very well. Used it a few times and it charges super quick when in direct sunlight.

I got the anker panel its pretty good, i've found easier to charge a battery pack, and charge the phone indirectly, they're more tolerant of an inconsistent supply, i found my phone would keep beeping as the current went too low o charge and then again it came back into direct sunlight.
Of course i was in wales, india may be better supplied with direct sunlight!

Should be able to get a phone to last a few days if you aren't facebooking etc all day... just another thought.
Thanks for the replies. I'll check them out.
My non-smartphone could last over a week with moderate use. Its just if I'm using the GPS and taking photos with this experia z3 then it won't last more than a day between charges.
