New house has a water softener.
Wow it makes such a difference to the cleaning needed around sinks and the bath. They don’t get grimy or scaled at all- never even considered one and used to dump the adverts straight in the bin when they came through the door.
Clearly a cost to run it though. One that I’m still trying to work out is how much water it uses. Harveys say it uses 17 litres and takes 10 mins for each regen. The 10 mins seems right but I don’t get how it only uses 10 litres - it basically sounds like the tap is on for 10 mins which is more like 150 litres!
