Mountain Warehouse

These are ace. They're not 100% merino but that doesn't seem to be a problem, I think possibly it actually helps draw sweat away from the foot as they're not as damp feeling as pure merino can be. They're really nicely shaped and finished and they're as warm as my woolie boolies, though not quite as warm when wet. The heel tends to wear through a little bit quicker than I'd like but that's something that happens a lot with me and socks so maybe it's just some weird thing I do. And they're £7.50 so I don't mind too much.

I just bought another 3 pairs because of you 🙁

4. Survive a year

year! I’m annoyed when socks go through after five or six years! I’m particularly pissed that one of my two pairs of Large Hardware Kevlar reinforced socks has gone through just above the reinforced heel, and I’m seriously looking at trying to darn them. They’ve got to be over twenty years old!

Thing is, I’ve got loads of socks, and wear a pair once before washing, so the wear is spread over long periods.

I have a few pairs of these that I've been wearing over the winter commute. I think I found them slightly cheaper on ebay

My Karimoor medium weight boot socks are about 15 years old now and still good as new, although they are pre Chavs Direct buy out, so probably no longer made.

Another vote for Smartwool. Very durable.

I didn't find Smartwool socks very durable but I wear out all socks, I think I've got pretty bony feet or something.  Best socks I've had have been the Ulvang socks which were cheap on eBay a while back.  I wear them with safety boots everyday for work.  Mostly pretty thin now but no holes or bald patches.

If I was a Bezillionaire ... I'd wear a brand new pair of socks each and every day.

That is all

Whatever socks I buy get nicked by the wife. And lost singularly. Then put back in my sock drawer.
