If the footballing authorities are serious at all about the 'respect' campaign, the Chelsea players who accused the ref of making racist slurs should be hammered with massive bans. It's far too easy to cry racist now, and know that the media will drag it on and on...

Why?

Do you have proof they are lying?

Almost certainly. Same thing people always say about the NBPA.

Obviously not, but he was cleared, so the FA seem to think he's innocent. Mud sticks and accusing some one of racism shouldn't be taken lightly. That and most footballers at that level are a bunch of primadonna whankstains.

The FA Investigation isnt over (last I heard).

The Met have called theirs off as nobody has come forward as a victim, Their investigation was started because a complaint was made by Peter Herbet (head of The Black Lawyers Ass.). No-one from CFC has made a complaint to The Met.

They are essentially 2 different things.

OP why not just say you think they are racist and get on with it as you and subtly have not even met.

Re terry why are they annoyed at the FA who found him guilty rather than the courts who found him innocent?
As for this incident it appears that some non native English speakers misheard a geordie saying mickel as monkey.
I am not sure what they should be prosecuted for

Is it important? If I was a white lawyer, I probably wouldn't join, for the same reason I haven't joined the local Rangers FC supporters club- not because I can't, but because there's no reason to...

What is wrong with:

Are there any white lawyers in the Society of Black Lawyers?

Do the Society of Black Lawyers allow white lawyers to join their organisation?

JY - I think that racism is complex and that an organisation calling themselves the Society for Black Lawyers, or anything that has a deliberate reference to race in its title is a retrograde step.

We have to ask ourselves who and what exactly is the Society of Black Lawyers ? What is their agenda here ?

It was they who asked the Met Police to investigate after hearing stories in the media, the met police investigated and found no Chelsea player had made or was willing to make a complaint, the met police spoke explicitly to Mikel Obe - he made no complaint.

In my view it is the Societynof Black lawyers who need to answer the question as to why they wasted police time

Well if it formed today you may have a point

I agree in general that it would be better to have egalitarian names

however the prosecution rates and likelihood of conviction for non white accused may make you quickly conclude the judiciary is institutionally racist ad they need to redress this.
Being black gives them a greater insight into the issues faced than I have
FWIW I bet they wish they did not [need to] exist either

it is the Societynof Black lawyers who need to answer the question as to why they wasted police time

Wasted police time did they 😕 - you can be charged with that

They did not waste time the police investigated and dont have enough evidence to charge. This is no the same as legally "wasting police time"

What if the best lawyer is not black? Would the black person not be better off getting the best lawyer regardless of their colour?

Was that bit not intended to hint at black lawyers being better placed to deal with black defendents?

Would anyone have a problem with a Society for Scottish Lawyers?

Y'know (or rather Y'ken) people who have a greater insight into the travails of the pale and pastey folk?
