Aubameyang and Lacazette look like they could have a field day here! That first goal was quality by both of them

I’ve got Aubameyang as captain of my FF side though, so that’s usually the kiss of death

Meanwhile in the footballing wasteland that is the Championship, Kemar Roofe scores twice (!) in stoppage time to give LUFC a three point lead over Norwich at the top of the table! And Berardi goes berserk!! MOT!

Nice to see Arsenal can still be depended on for some truly shocking defending

My team is managed by Tony Pulis and I have a season ticket, that is all. Time for a few drinks.

Just had a punt on Liverpool equalling Uniteds 8-2 here today at 40/1

If only I didn’t have to listen to Steve McMannamon commentating on it

More importantly I’ve got tickets for me and Binnerette no1 for the Bournemouth game tomorrow. Looking forward to a decent atmosphere at OT 😀

Amazing from Liverpool tonight. Blew Arsenal away.

Stevie G will be happy tonight, some job he’s doing at Rangers

Aubameyang touched the ball 13 times all game!

Surely a fair chunk of those were at kick-offs?

Yep - and his miss from a yard out! I think Liverpool can play better actually but they suffocated Arsenal.

Aubameyang touched the ball 7 times in the first half and 4 of those were kick offs!

Well what a difference a couple of weeks and a new manager makes ;D

Great atmosphere at OT yesterday as everyone serenaded Ole for 90 minutes. About as far away from what went before as it’s possible to get. We look like a different team.

It’s difficult to overstate how much love for him there is at United. A genuine club legend, he’s as open, warm and modest as Maureen was graceless, petulant and confrontational. And he understands the culture of the club perfectly

We’re not under any illusions. We’re still way off City and Liverpool. Top four is all but impossible, the season is a write off, but it’s just great to see some decent, free-flowing attacking football for a change, after the entirely negative, lifeless dross that Jose delivered. The players look like they’re enjoying themselves, and the fans certainly are!

Looking forward to this one Mike?

If anything I think this will be more of a test than the last few. Ole said he always hates going to St James’s Park. It’s Rafa, Newcastle and a lot of history, and you gave us a game last time out.

Bet you wish Moaning Maureen had hung around for another few weeks though, eh?

Now TV have my cash, folks are in there and expecting the pre match pic to land on my phone shortly.

The sound of 50,000 Georrdies singing your getting sacked would have been worth being up there for, but yep Jose never having won there with any club would have helped with the pressure, could be a different test for Ole tonight I hope. Solid line up for us, defensive minded as your would expect, Man U do need a little grounding before Spurs have a rip into them.

Can somebody check on Binners, he might have choked on a vegan sausage roll!!

Entertaining game so far, happy to have in even at half time and our flare players still on the bench, Atsu is back to where he was when he joined us

Well give us one of the Man U bench strikers and we should have won that, reds are still not sorted at the back and I would say any of the top 5 should take them apart, if they go behind it will be a much bigger test for them.

I knew that would be tougher than we’ve had so far Mike. Ironic that it’s Ole’s first clean sheet. Lucky. Like you said, it’d be different if you had a decent striker with their shooting boots on. Upped the game second half.

We’ve got that to come though. Just loving watching them play some proper football. Apparently Real having been sniffing around Rashford. He’s absolute quality, and one of our own, but Ole coached him at youth level, so knows him. He’s going to be a legend.

Also ironic we now seem
To have a super sub. Not the one we expected 😂

We’re ropey at the back Mike. Ironically (again) we’re playing Kevin Keegan Newcastle style football. You’ll score, but we’ll score more

I’ve probably told you before but one of my best games at OT was in the Stretford End watching us beat you 5-3 and I’d taken my Geordie mate who I’d told to STFU for the duration. And the main chant was for Ole and Alan Shearer being ****ing dearer.

So this is all Alan Shearers fault 😂

Defensive midfield from Klopp.....didn't work well at PSG. Expect City will sit in too but do enough to win though.

It’s either going to be a 5-4 goal-fest or a bloody awful nil-nil war of midfield attrition where they cancel each other out. Here’s hoping for the former

Could do with a city win to keep the race open, I think it is improbable for Liverpool to be caught if they win tonight, unless they have some kind of injury crises.

Liverpool look to be getting the rub of the green at the moment, the draw last time out with city, the last second winner over everton. It was happening for city last year, not necessarily undeserved results, but usually you just get some results that don't go your way, even when dominating not getting that late winner ect.

Liverpool win for me, City need to win this one and will need to come forward to do that, a draw does nothing for them really, should make for an open game

What a finish that was?! 😳

I doubt this match will be finishing with 22 players on the pitch. There’s been some pretty tasty challenges going in from both sides.

Can’t see them keeping this pace up for another 45 minutes. It’s a bit hectic!

Well that’s opened things up a bit. Could be a big switch in momentum after that. City have perhaps had their slip-ups so now time to see how Liverpool react to the end of their unbeaten run.

Fantastic game! Needn’t have worried about it being a cagey affair. Absolutely bonkers pace throughout. Great to see two attacking sides properly go at each other.

I think City probably deserved it on the second half performance. Silva (B) and Sane we’re both outstanding!

Keeps things wide open and interesting for the title at this stage.

Pains me to say it as a Liverpool fan but City deserved to win that game. Sane was the mot the match imo. How Liverpool react to the result will shape their season. City have had their blip, just hope Liverpool’s won’t be as bad. If it is their in trouble 😩

Liverpool better hope Gomez gets fit soon so Lovren can revert to the bench. Also not sure how Henderson gets in the team for such a big game. Same strategy as at PSG from Klopp with the same result.

They probably did but it really could have gone either way which tells you these 2 are leading the pack, Spurs have to hang on the coat tails and hope for a good run

Lovren - the self-proclaimed ‘best defender in the world’ - was the weakest link tonight, as he always is. Any decent striker will know that if you target him, you’ll get some joy.

The rest of that Liverpool defence looks pretty solid. Which you’ve not been able to say for a long time. Amazing what a difference bringing in two world class players makes to a squad

England Player and Coke?
Joining the dots from Man U, Leicester, Liverpool or Spurs?

Probably not going to end well if it's been covered up by the club.

Newport deserve to be in front. Great game! Can they keep this up for another 45?

One of my mates is an Oldham fan who’s presently travelling back from Craven Cottage, ecstatic at them putting Fulham out. He’d shoved a (very optimistic) bet on an Oldham win at ridiculous odds. He’s not had much to smile about, football-wise, for quite some time

Why TF would you do something as dumb as that when you've just equalised?

At 85 min one-all - Leicester defender obvious (high elbow) handball giving away penalty. Newport scored. Two-one up, held on well though 4min ET

as MWS said

clear hand to ball, I don't think there was a single protest, least of all from Albrighton himself. If there had been a revolver to hand, the only question would have been who'd have beaten Albrighton to it!

Terrible terrible performance from Keita, Fabinho, Moreno and Sturridge. I don't blame the young lads but they looked very out of their depth. Poor poor showing that.

Thought Fabinho wasn't too bad, given he was played at the back. Agree with the rest though - Sturridge anonymous and Shaqiri was poor too, aside from the free kick.

Putting that team out against premier league opponents suggests he considers the FA cup a distraction rather than a priority at this stage of this season.

Where are the other center backs by the way, I take it Van Dijk was just rested, with Lovren now looking to be out with a hamstring injury, how far from fit is Gomez and where is Mattip?

I think both Matip and Gomez have a little while yet. Gomez is certainly 3-4 weeks away. Lovren is a loss.... Never thought i'd say that LOL. He really needs a plan B for the weekend with VVD in the middle of the back 4. Not quite sure who'll fill it as it was clear that Fabinho is far from a CB.

Bugger.Young Hoever looks v promising. He may stick him in with Uncle Virgil but I reckon Jurgen will have to buy a Centre back as cover. Hopefully this loss doesn't create a losing mentality...Was Lalana sick?

also not betting against Kane missing a penalty

This looks like a cup game with Chelski playing a team from a lower division.

Newcastle look like nailed on relegation fodder. It really is a travesty what Mike Ashley has done to the club. Nice to hear the Geordies in full voice reminding him of the fact.

Rafa surely can’t stick around for much longer overseeing what is essentially a championship squad?

He won't, currently there is a threat that he gets no funds unless he signs an extension. We all know that one is a joke. We were singing that song from the corner at the Blackburn game.

Shelvey and Diame are a huge miss in the middle, one to hold it and get stuff broken up, one to move it and set the faster lads free. We are hanging on to keep GD down.

I'm in for the Cardiff game next Saturday, going to be a really tough one.

Oh and Perez, I think he is only there due to speaking Spanish (the more I call him shit the better his shooting gets)

Rondon and Ki have been the only 2 to break into the first team so far, looks like everyone else we have acquired is just a squad player.

Chelski should have this put to bed by now. I can’t get my head round playing Hazard up front when you’ve strikers sat on the bench. Bonkers!

Watching MOTD and I’d Watched the second half earlier. it’s just bloody brilliant to see Declan Rice, at 19, get his first goal for the club and a man of the match performance.

You could just see how much it meant to him. Just great to watch

the only downside is it does increase the chances of Man U being in Europe next year, well the arse end of eastern europe on Thursday nights

I look forward to playing sides we’ve never heard of in the Ukraine 😃

Tomorrow’s going to be interesting. We’ll get to see where we really are with Ole.

Robbie Savages mum has predicted 2-1 Spurs, but then she predicted 2-1 to Arsenal today so, hopefully, she’s slipping

I’ve got my scouse mate round to watch the match tomorrow, and he’s going to be bad enough on the back of today, so hopefully we can do something. A win and we’re level with Arsenal. Didn’t think I’d be saying that a few weeks ago

I don’t know what to expect tomorrow. Whether Ole can do cagey, or whether it’s going to be full on Kevin Keegan Banzai shit!

I’m sure it won’t be dull. No bus parking, that’s for sure.

Well unless you can defend I don't see it ending well, the highest placed team you have played is 12th, the others are all relegation contenders, at times Newcastle played straight through the back of you lot. Next up Kane, Ali, Ericson and the rest.

Like I said Mike - I’ve no idea what to expect from us tomorrow.

But it’s going to be a lot tougher than we’ve had, and it’ll let us know where we are.

I’d just like to see us carry on playing some decent attacking football. Our defence is ropey as ****. We know that. So it’s Kevin Keegan or nothing, I reckon.

Top four for us would involve a fairly catastrophic collapse in form from the present top four, and I can’t see that happening

Bratislava, here we come! 😂
